Divine Postpartum Coaching

At Nurture of Life

We first hold the mother close—she is the nurturer of life, the foundation for her new baby’s well-being. We support her smooth transition from maidenhood to matrescence to motherhood by providing both ancient wisdom and scientifically proven truths. Through this guidance, she learns to see and connect with her divine nature, empowering her to prevent anything that may threaten her or her baby's well-being from the very beginning.

Welcome to Nurture of Life

with Alma Olaveson

As a new or expectant mother, you’ve likely immersed yourself in research about pregnancy, labor, and decisions for your newborn. But what about you—the brand-new mother, now the primary source of your child’s life?

Are you prepared for the biological, psychological, emotional, and social changes and needs that accompany the new milestone of your feminine nature, known as childbirth?

“A mother can heal the wounds from her past by receiving helpful care during her childbearing year. Research has proven that for women who believe they were not cared for well during their childhood, a positive childbearing experience can begin to help repair the pain of those childhood injuries. Positive experiences during this time of incredible change can turn a women’s life path toward health and security. This gift from the universe offers another chance at emotional health. The mother who did not get the care she needed as a baby can get it now in motherhood. Studies show that the positive care a women receives during childbearing can help her see herself as loveable, even if she may have been unable to see herself that way before. Her childlike needs are met while she meets the needs of her own child.” – By Laurie A. Kanyer

Education and preparation shouldn’t begin in the hospital recovery room with a pamphlet. It should start long before— the moment you first consider pregnancy. I’m here to change that, guiding you to honor your transition into motherhood and the sacred process of co-creation, equipping you with essential knowledge and skills in advance. Just as preparation is crucial for internships and jobs, nature invites us to shed the lies of modern world philosophies that clash with the natural milestones of a feminine nature. These clashes create unnecessary challenges for modern women, such as postpartum depression, anxiety, and psychosis. The truth is that we have natural milestones that nurture our being, our lives, and the continuation of the human race. That’s how much we have been trusted.

The journey through your childbearing year encompasses five key phases:

  1. Pre-pregnancy
  2. Pregnancy
  3. Birth
  4. Early Postpartum
  5. Settling In

“During this term, the family unit is embraced; mother and father grieve the losses that come as a result of the birth.” — Laurie A. Kanyer

Nurture of Life acknowledges your grieving and guides you to recognize the growth and gains of your new milestone in this stage of your personal development. It helps you shed beliefs that no longer serve you and hold no truth for you. The quicker you release resistance, the sooner you will experience the joyous gains of your transformation as an individual.

In the modern world, new mothers often grapple with untruthful beliefs that their life is over, face unrealistic expectations, and have limited support services, especially in the United States. Despite this, the universal experience of postpartum is profound. I am honored to guide you through each phase of this journey as your coach.

Kimberly Ann Johnson highlights that many women rush through their maternal leave, unaware of their need for rest and care. At Nurture of Life, we redefine postpartum as Pause-partum™, emphasizing a communal pause to prioritize your well-being.

Nature has designed this period as a time of care and bonding to all your own parts of self and your child—through genuine curiosity. My intention is to help you embrace the need for support, trust, curiosity, and creativity, guiding you in creating a personalized Pause-partum™ plan that honors your recovery and growth.

Give yourself permission to pause and embrace this natural rhythm, even in a culture that doesn’t value the virtue of patience. It’s a paradigm shift from a stressful postpartum experience to a nurturing and creative Pause-partum™, supporting you in healing, strengthening, and thriving in this new, everlasting phase of personal development called motherhood.

Here we will be applying the practice of planning and preparing a head of time with the first time mothers, and beyond the first baby we will learn to make a new plan each time. Even that the mother of multiple children might be a pro, she experiences new feelings with each birth.

Remember all your feelings and needs before and after childbirth are welcomed and safe here with us.

Support Tailored to Fit Your Needs

Natural physical, mental, and emotional changes occur within a woman during pregnancy, after childbirth, and throughout her life. However, your self-worth remains constant. This is the mission of Nurture of Life: to help you embrace this truth.

Research indicates that postpartum is typically defined as starting at childbirth and ending with the cessation of breastfeeding, though this timeline varies for each mother. This natural transformation can be daunting, challenging, and isolating.

Isolation poses a significant threat to postpartum women. When you feel ready, consider connecting with Nurture of Life, whether in group settings or one-on-one.

The term “postpartum” itself in Western culture can trigger feelings of shame and anxiety. However, it doesn’t have to be this way. By working with Nurture of Life from the moment you contemplate pregnancy and learning to BE and find fulfillment within, you can significantly reduce the likelihood of experiencing postpartum depression or anxiety.

Nurture of Life provides wisdom and guidance as you navigate the journey of motherhood, from childbirth through postpartum. I am here to assist you in addressing your unique needs and maintaining your well-being during matrescence and beyond.

Taking care of yourself not only benefits you but also positively impacts your baby and those around you. Nurture of Life actively combats isolation, offering the emotional and psychological support essential for you to be a serene, authentic, and present individual and mother.

My Mission

At Nurture of Life, we refer to the postpartum period as pause-partum(TM). This perspective emphasizes inner self-bonding, compassion, and acceptance during the transformative phase following childbirth. Pause-partum(TM) allows you to process the changes within and around you, recognizing this period as a natural, universal phase.

As a mother, I am aware nature intended this time to be a pause-partum(TM). Amid the demands of modern motherhood, it’s vital to find moments of stillness. Pausing helps us connect with our inherent strength, fostering inner peace and confidence that benefits all aspects of life. I am here to support you in this journey.

Nurture of Life was established to nurture and protect your soul, mind, body, and relationships. In our fast-paced world, nature provides a crucial time to slow down and just be. While modern society calls it postpartum, I see it as a pause-partum(TM)—a natural design by nature.

Let’s embrace the true essence of this period, rather than struggle to meet the demands of a world not aligned with our well-being.

Postpartum Coach, Alma, ready to help other mothers going through postpartum depression

My Story

I am Alma Olaveson, a wholistic Prenatal and Postnatal coach. I am naturally curious, a lover of continuous learning and growth, and a firm believer that we are all whole and worthy no matter what. I love anything outdoorsy. I hold a B.A. in Psychology, have conducted hundreds of hours of independent research, and have a deep understanding of human nature and relationships. I am also a trained yoga teacher with 200 hours of instruction. With nearly a decade of experience as a mentor and coach, I understand the challenges of being a first-time mother without guidance or a strong support system. This personal experience has deepened my compassion for all mothers, including my own, and for myself.

Here at Nurture of Life with Alma you will:

  • Experience a virtual safe place where you can be vulnerable to express emotions and thoughts you are experiencing post childbirth.
  • Be nurtured and empowered during a time with new and sometimes overwhelming and unbearable emotions.
  • Feel protected from the dangers of modern postpartum through wholistic means.
  • Learn to connect, and accept how nature intended post childbirth to be for mothers throughout the history of humankind.
  • Learn to understand and embrace nature’s concept and meaning of pause-partum instead of postpartum.
  • Learn skills and gain tools to prevent isolation, anxiety, and fears.
  • Overcome low self-worth, second-guessing yourself, self-doubt, loss of identity, postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, postpartum exhaustion, postpartum adjustments, and many more.
  • Build an authentic, individualized pause-partum plan.
  • Gain access to one-on-one and group coaching during your prenatal and postnatal stages specifically focused on you and your postpartum.
  • Gain new mother friends! The joy of forming and maintaining human relationships is what keeps us healthy and happy. Relationships are the most important part of the human experience.
  • Learn to make adjustments within yourself as you emerge into the new divine state and life of a mother.

The more you know why, what, and how to prepare, the smaller your fears and anxieties will become. I learned this lesson during the Lamaze class I took before giving birth to my son. The more I learned there, the fewer fears and anxieties I experienced about labor. When I gave birth to my daughter completely naturally, I realized that prioritizing the bond and connection with my body and my true, highest self allowed me to birth with very little fear, anxiety, or pain. During a three-day labor with my firstborn and an almost two-hour pushing session, I was actually the one encouraging and empowering my team, repeatedly telling them what a great job they were doing. This is exactly the lesson I would love to help you apply as you transition from maiden to mother. You are divine, have always been, and will always be. Let’s choose to believe this truth consistently and operate from such a state of being.

Testimonials

Wholistic Support for Mothers

I am here for you!

I would be honored to be your coach and walk alongside you in this transformative stage of matrescence, postpartum, and motherhood. I strongly believe that becoming a mother is a natural process of change and growth, much like entering puberty in adolescence.

“Matrescence is the physical, emotional, hormonal, and social transition to becoming a mother. As I write in my new eBook, Candid Parenthood: ‘This process can be pretty intense. It’s even often misdiagnosed as postnatal depression – which I find pretty alarming.'” – Zelma Tolley

According to the Cambridge Dictionary:

  1. Matrescence, the developmental phase of new motherhood, is like adolescence—a transition when hormones surge, bodies change, and identity and relationships shift.
  2. The episode explores the key concept of matrescence—the sometimes anxiety-provoking phase of stepping into your “new mom” identity.
  3. Matrescence can feel like a big swirl of emotion, but much of it is physically rooted in hormone changes, just like adolescence.

It’s my personal mission to create a thriving ecosystem and environment within myself—and to help you do the same. In moments like these, I’ve been drawn to journey inward, seeking less distraction and embracing myself more fully. My mission is to guide you on this same path: to turn inward, where the greatest treasures are found. These inner discoveries and connections will ultimately support the health and development of your child as well.

This inspired me to create an emotionally and psychologically nurturing environment for you to bloom and thrive after birth and during matrescence. Our society often undervalues matrescence, but my mission is to create a world with more emotionally, psychologically, socially and spiritually nourished mothers. I am here for you.
